With the Republican National Convention back on schedule today after Hurricane Gustav, the RNC has prominently featured a section “Help Serve a Cause” on the homepage. This is great to see. Two of the links take you to videos of Laura Bush and Cindy McCain speaking about the need to help those affected. The third link brings you to a new, interesting website.

The site www.CauseGreater.com is paid for by McCain’s campaign and it’s good to see they’ve launched a micro-site to promote service in the Gulf. Hopefully the campaign continues to build-out this site until November to promote the ethic of service and the encouragement to get involved. Does Obama have anything similar?

One thing to keep an eye will be how each campaign – win or lose – continues to promote service considering the sizable lists and followings each have generated.
