Ms. Joyce Stoer Cordi, CA-15’s Republican challenger, is on board with the ServeNext Pledge to Expand National Service. In fact, she thinks that those who serve should be given a 1:1 match on time invested toward higher education.
From her education agenda on her website:
Provide student loans and work study programs for any legal resident or citizen of the United States eligible for college admission who requires financial assistance in addition to scholarships and private student loans.
- Offer an option to repay the loan with interest or to
- Provide one year of national service (Peace Corps, Teach for America, Ranger Naturalist, or Military Service etc.) for every year of education funded.
ServeNext agrees… the $4,725 Segal AmeriCorps Education Award isn’t covering much these days. Thanks for your leadership on the issue of national service, Ms. Cordi!
