George F. Mays, candidate for Ohio’s 5th congressional district, recently signed the ServeNext Congressional Pledge to Expand National Service.

According to Mays’ biography on his campaign website, his childhood consisted of many ups and downs as his parents divorced and he moved to the projects for a year.  Upon graduation from Campbellsville College in Kentucky, he went on to earn his Masters of Divinity from Ashland University and worked with numerous charities including The Salvation Army as well as Southern Baptist and Congregational churches.

ServeNext appreciates Mays’ lifetime of service and his support for AmeriCorps expansion.
